Public Policy Positions

The NM Conference of Churches' Board of Directors has developed a number
of position statements on public policies which impact on the citizens of
our state. The position statements are intended to:

1. Provide information for use by the faith communities of New Mexico as
they deliberate on policy issues;

2. Provide a framework for advocacy by the NMCC.

The Board of Directors also developed a tool for Evaluating Public Policies and Legislation. These guidelines are applicable to
a wide range of issues. They also can be used to guide study groups and
forums for civic discourse.
